Junior Rugby Festival
27th March 2022
On a cold day in March, the Greenwich Pirates and Mini's teams attended a rugby festival hosted at Old Colfeians Rugby Club.
Despite the early start and chilly conditions, the atmosphere quickly lifted as hundreds of young players gathered across more than 30+ pitches.
Boys and girls from all age groups took part in a full day of rugby activity, representing teams from across the region.
Throughout the festival, junior teams competed in multiple matches at different levels. The event showcased a wide range of participation, from determined runners to quick-paced play, alongside the efforts of coaches, referees, and the support of families.
The day was marked by strong competition, positive spirit, and clear enjoyment among participants. Overall, the event highlighted the values of the sport, with rugby itself standing out as the true winner.
The festival was widely regarded as a success, demonstrating skill, sportsmanship, and respect throughout. Appreciation was extended to all involved, including players, coaches, referees, organisers, and Old Colfeians Rugby Club for hosting the event.
The contribution of volunteers was once again essential in ensuring the smooth running of the day. Recognition was also given to all junior participants, supporters, and volunteers whose efforts made the event possible.
